RAID 0 + Windows = Unhappy.

So my roommate is trying to install Windows with two SATA 32GB drives in RAID 0 with no such luck.

Information:

VIA Chipset, ASUS p4p 800 deluxe
Serial ATA Raptors 32GB each, both formatted

The BIOS refuses to detect them when they are set up for the RAID in the RAID config, though the RAID config menu shows exactly what should be there. When he boots off the Windows disc, installs the third party RAID controller drivers, and gets to the install portion, Windows complains that there is no device to install to.

If he removes the RAID, the BIOS will see two drives and everything is happy, but alas this is not what he wants..

Any clever suggestion with RAID? (Never used it myself, could offer no advice past getting him to this point 😛 )
