Raid 0 - What do start up disks see???

I've been toying with the idea of setting up a Raid 0 configuration. At times I use start up disks such as Ghost to perform an image dump or other utilities to access a hard drive or perform some low level operation.

Are these typical start up disks even usable under a Raid configuration? I assume these start up disk utilities are rendered pretty useless in a Raid environment. Am I wrong???

Unless you are able to load a DOS driver for your RAID Controller, the disks would not be available to your "startup disks". I'm guessing more manufacturers don't release DOS drivers for their RAIDs, but maybe you can find something free.

With my RAID controller (Silicon Image SiL680r) it just shows up to DOS/Windows as a single drive, as it should do. Ghost/Drive Image/DOS startup disks recognise it as a single drive.
