Raid 0 SSD or High end SSD on asus px658d premium

Before I get into the SSD question let me give a little background.

My setup:

Intel Core i7-980 Gulftown 3.33GHz LGA 1366 130W Six-Core Desktop Processor
ASUS P6X58D Premium LGA 1366 Intel X58 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0
Noctua NH-D14 120mm & 140mm SSO CPU Cooler
16 GB (4 x 4GB) Kingston HyperX Grey Series 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 Desktop Memory Model

I have an Asus px658d premium which has a sucky controller (Marvel) from what I hear? I have the latest BIOS.

The first two ram slots closest to the CPU (one of them is Ram Slot 1) don't work so I can't do a tri-channel setup. I'm running dual-channel and am wondering if $100 ($100 plus the sale of my motherboard) is worth it to get a motherboard that can do tri-channel?

Now for the SSD question.

I have a G.Skill Phenix Pro SSD. My benchmarks are the same as this: http://benchmarkreviews.com/images/...GBP2/as-ssd-bench-GSkill-Pheonix-Pro-AHCI.png

I would at least like to triple that. I'm not too familiar with marvel controller problems and would like to get some help on a good SSD setup that would be the best bang for the buck.

Should I do a Raid 0 configuration with something like crucial M4. Or should I do a Raid 0 with two M4's and sell the Phoneix Pro SSD. Or should I do high end ssd?

Isn't that score a little low for an ssd? My m4 on sata 2 is getting higher scores(almost 2x higher in some cases). I am not familiar with your drive though.

The Phoenix is pretty old and shows in benchmarks.
However for everyday use it's still fine. I'm posting this from a Dell XPS M1330 with a 128GB Gskill Falcon from 2009. The machine is very fast for everyday tasks!

Even though the latest and greatest drives such as the Samsung 830, Plextor M3P, etc. are SATA3 they will still perform admirably on a SATA2 host and run rings around older SSDs in benchmarks and heavier usage patterns, etc.

I only RAID them for higher STR and capacity, however.
You can get a SAS/SATA 6.0Gbps host/raid controller but I'd only recommend that if you want 4+ disks striped.

Do you only want to benchmark or do you actually want to use your system?

Faster everyday use. Right now when I copy a file over it takes much longer then my work computer which has a OCZ Vertex 4.

my everyday use it, launching the android emulator several times while coding. Compiling code, unzipping large files. Copying large files.

Vertex 3 Max iops here. ~500Mb read and write. never had issues either. Used to have some corsair P series ina raid 0 setup. Blazing speed, but not worth the cost in my opinion. raid 0 is awesome, but I'd wait for 4th gen ssd's to mature a bit more before considering a raid 0 setup. Not worth the hassle if something goes wrong, otherwise you can kiss your data goodbye.
