Raid 0 Question (Switching out motherboards)

I am running a RAID 0 config on a Soyo Dragon KT333 Ultra Platinum motherboard. I was having some heat issues so I cleaned out the box, reapplied thermal paste, etc. In the process I'm pretty sure I killed my motherboard (clumsy with the screwdriver, now the board doesn't read the memory).

I'd *really* like to save my RAID array. It stands to reason I could replace the board with an exact duplicate and everything would be fine and dandy. However, is it possible to move the RAID array to another motherboard? One that uses the same Highpoint chipset? Or does the chipset matter?

Thanks in advance.

My experience with raid arrays is limited. I've only deal with 3ware and intel sata raid arrays.
I can tell you though that you should be able to save it using the same or a newer highpoint chipset. I don't know what will happen if you try it on another chipset. Hopefully someone will be able to answer that.

if its the OS drive make sure you uninstall any motherboard, system drivers...the array will work but XP is known for having problems with switching the MB (somehow da b- just knows its motherwas replaced)

in the past i have accomplished this (2k systems)

Thanks for the replies.

Not wanting to take any chances, I picked an identical board on Ebay. I was fortunate enough to find someone who could ship today (and it was cheap, too!) :)

I'm still considering upgrading, though.
