Is it possible to have more that 2 drives in a raid 0 configuration ?

what's the limit ?

i'm guessing it would be fast in a 4 drive config... :)

yes it is, for example Promise Fasttrack66 has two channels, and you can have up to 2 drives on each IDE channel, but at this point the tranfer rates (with 4 drives) would oversaturate ATA66 capabilities.

If your talking IDE RAID, then 4 is the limit. If your talking SCSI RAID, then 32 is the limit per dual channel controller. But you can have as many controllers as you can fit. :p

Yes, but not all controllers allow you to install more than one per computer... such as some of the Adaptec ones...

Some site did a benchmark with 4 drives on the promise, the speeds were pretty sweet :)

I've never heard of problems running more than 1 adaptec card in a system although I run exclusivly Tekram cards, no problems running 4 controllers in the same system.

Tomshardware has the workup about the Promise controller with 4 drives in raid0, and a bunch of other configs. Big article, pretty thorough.
