RAID 0 Performance question...

I was just trying to get some performance perspective on Raid 0 compared to a non array setup.
What is the percentage of performance for Eg.

Two 20GB IDE HDDs on a KR7A-Raid board compared to just one drive in terms of bootup, loading apps and games etc.

As u can see im thining about getting this board, just want to see if raid is worth the extra money.

any input much appreciated 🙂)

Some people claim to see improvement during bootup or game loading, some don't. Me - I can't really tell, to be honest, and I don't feel like timing it with a stopwatch. The big improvement is in transfer rates for large files, whereas most "day-to-day" use depends more on smaller files. RAID is fun and cool if you've got the extra ~$100 to spare, but don't expect it to give you SCSI-like seek times.

Yeah it basically depends on what you are doing, large games, and disk intensive (loading) OSes might see benefit, but it really helps video-editing, and some graphic programs too.
