RAID 0 or UDMA 100

Which will be faster,
a single UDMA100 7200 rpm hard drive

or

a RAID 0 setup using 2 UDMA33 5400 rpm hard drives?

hmmm, I'd have to agree. But if you just upped the 2nd one to 7200 RPM's then it would best the best option, but if it's 5400 RPM's then no, Single 7200RPm is better.

how much faster would the performance of 2 7200rpm ATA/6 hds @ RAID 0 go? would you do it if you had the opportunity? what about RAID 0+1?

Oh yeah, Any ATA/66/ATA/100 7200RPM RAID 0 array I would do it. It increases performance in office apps, and other disk apps by 10% at least, often more. RAID 0+1 would be the most ideal RAID configuration, because it mirrors and Stripes, but you need to have 4 Hard Drives, but still only 2 of them count towards the final disk space.
