I have 2 new Raptor drives which I will be setting up in RAID 0 configuration. I have read that the drives should be identical for best results. My 2 Raptors have different firmware versions - 00FLA1 and 00FLA2. Is this an issue? Should I return one of the drives to get both drives with the same firmware version. Does anyone know what issue/benefit the new firmware is providing?

I bought one from Newegg and then decided to pick up another a week later. The rebate was gone from Newegg so I picked up the second from Outpost.

Ribbon13, thanks for the link to the Storage Review article. (I also found that discussion earlier today in my search) ...one of the post there stated:

"It's very rare for a HDD maker to provide firmware updates to the end-user."
They also talked about exchanging drives to get the same firmware version.

From this, I got the impression that changing the firmware was not possible on the Raptors. If it is and you could provide the utility, that would be great!
