OMG, just got back from a freshman induction ceremony. Football coach was a little miffed that everybody didn't care to sing their fight song.

WTF is it with this crap anyway, and WTF does it have to do with anything? I mean, go ahead and do your extracurricular crap, but don't expect everyone else to give a damn about it. Sheesh...

...that's what everyone else does

That's the main thing I was wondering about. The opinion of the members of this board. Certainly most ATOT students don't give flaming fart about school spirit, do they?

I'm not a sports-hating nerd, but I could never understand the fanatacism with which some people approach sports. Pep rallies are ridiculous.

I'm in my third year at Madison, and have never been to, nor never plan to, attend a Badger game. I don't like sports for the most part, and don't feel a need to go to games that I don't want to, just to have some school spirit.

I notice we're not getting ANY feedback from the supporters, about why this is so important and necessary. Kind of expected that, though.

I remember Friday in class before we were doing the Terry Fox run.

Teacher: "Well, most of it's to honour Terry Fox and some of it's for school spirit"
Me (Under breath): "Who gives a fvck about school spirit"

*everyone in class gives me a strange look*

I gotta practice speaking under my breath, lol.

Terry Fox is a guy that started walking somewhere in Canada (I forget whether it was from the east or west) and ended in Thunder Bay, I believe.. The purpose was to raise money from cancer (actually, he wen't through Quebec, which tells me he came from the east. I think he only made something like $34 going through Quebec). On a fake leg, no less.
