Rage 128 locks up when cold boot !

Latest drivers on my Epox 8KTA+MB with Duron 800 running win98.

when the computer is cold it locks up at the win splash screen, have to restart and force to go to normal mode (tries to go to safemode). When the computer is warm and have to reboot no problems.

All problems resolve when card switched to Matrox G200 card, but the computer is slow.

any similar problems out there?
