I have been downloading for right at an hour and its 76% done. not too bad for such a huge dl plus Steam never fully uses my connection speed the whole time especially during the day.

its "only" 30 meg. they offer 100 meg too but when we tried it out it was clear the lines out here could not handle it. by the time they get everything straight out here we can probably get 100 meg for the same prices we are already paying.

the game finished downloading but then another started right back up and looks like it is going to take much longer than the first.

well it went to 10% on the second dl and then got slower and slower until it just paused. when I tried to get it going again it just turned white as if it was done. something is not right because it was only at 10%.


EDIT: just started playing and I cant believe how ugly the textures really are. and more insulting is that you can see them streaming in. :thumbsdown:

Mine's STILL downloading. Sometimes Comcast is nice, but this whole thing where they cap any 1 stream to ~775KB/s is obnoxious. I can pull multiple 600K+streams no problem, but when I'm only pulling 1 thing it's capped... Which means bittorrent works better than Steam. Grrrrrrr.

Even at $10 I am going to pass. There is no way I can support a company that continues to produce poor quality products.

After doom 3, I swore I would never buy another id software game.
