Looks like a nice DVD player...plays SVCD's too. If I didn't already have two DVD players, I'd get this one.

Usually I abhor RadioShack. Overpriced and somehow it seems always a lesser quality product. However this may be an exceptional value for the price.

Thanx for the heads up.

Decent deal considering it has Component Video Out. Too bad I jumped on the Apex 1200 $59.99 Deal from CC.
Looks like an OEM machine I've seen somewhere ... if anyone can find out the OEM manufacturer it might be possible to hack it

For what it's worth---about a buck, in this case---ebates will get you an extra 1% off.

Thanks nekote, this dvd player definitely beats out my prospective choice of Apex AD-1200 at circuit city ($69). I'll definitely make a purchase decision soon and this player is high on the list! this will be my 1st dvd player purchase and i hope this can give me the joy for the inexpensive price. thoughts anyone?

This player is sold in Germany as the Schneider 855. Tons of reviews
in German and a region hack on Dvdreviewer.

Just bought one at RS and the s video out is giving me moving color bars on my TV. Plug back in my other RCA DVD player and no problem. Bringing this back and will try another one. Only 90 day war. on this.

Besides the component out, how is this player better than the Apex 1200/1500/1600? Hard to find any reviews on this unit.

Don't know if it's better but it's supposed to play damaged disc. Thought I would try it out.

I bought one from local shop but haven't opened the box or tried it. Though it says it plays SVCDs on the product description on their web site, there is no mention of it on the description on the box or on the manual downloaded from the site.

Could someone please confirm that it plays SVCDs. Thx.

Thanks for checking out SVCDS. I also tried SVCDs and it plays fine. It is a good looking and well built DVD player among the budget players.
