apparently these guys are supposed to be pretty good
now, assuming I haven't liked too many band that came out since 1974, what is a good song of theirs to steal off the net and listen to?
I personally don't see the attraction to Radiohead. I mean, Creep is a good song. It's just a well written, well performed song and good music is good music, no doubt. But most of the songs... I just don't see the big attraction. They have such a cult following. At least they don't sound like everyone else! That can't be a BAD thing.

radiohead has written much better songs than creep, the big attraction to them is they the have 4 excellent albums and they are also one of the better live bands right now
glen: check out anything from the bends, ok computer, kid a, amnesiac
it would be best to listen to them in that order to see the progression they have made
So weird...must be the planets are aligned...I was thinking about starting a radiohead thread today also as I've really gotten into them this past weekend...I've listened to songs here and there before but after listening to their song on the Vanilla Sky soundtrack (Everything in its Right place) I found myself wanting to hear more of them.
So I got Amnesiac and its great...also I found some great mixes including one by the great Paul Oakenfold...its great. I can see how Radiohead's not a band for everyone as they don't tend to follow the age-old verse-chorus-verse formula...and I hesistate to use a word like experimental..but they are very much on the artistic edge of music and I find myself feeling the same way towards them as I do towards Sonic Youth.
Radiohead is not even close to the Pumpkins, but they are still one of the best bands around today. Too bad SP broke up .

If you liked that song by Sigur Ros on the Vanilla Sky soundtrack I recommend picking up their new albulm. I just got it in from Amazon today and it is incredible. It is weird (for lack of a better term) like Radiohead, but it seems more beautiful than radiohead. They are both good.

yeah, that's another one that's really grown on me from that album--thx for the suggestion, I'll check it out.
