Radiohead fans: favorite album?

A few of my friends tell me that Radiohead is the greatest band on the planet, I figured I'd look them up. I have no idea what album to start with, if there are any Radiohead fans here post your favorite album of theirs

Overall "The Bends" but OK Computer has some excellent tracks as well. If you're just starting out, I would avoid Kid A and Amnesiac as they are... acquired tastes.

very true, i'd start out w/ "the bends" but "OK Computer" is my favorite.

I'm like the opposite...I'd start out on OK Computer and then move onto the Bends...but they are both incredible albums. I'm still trying to decide which one I like more.

But Hail to the Theif is also amazing...make sure to check that one out

Another vote for "OK Computer" but it's all good. I think Radiohead is the only really brilliant rock band left.

If you ask my friend (he loves Coldplay btw), he would say that the older Radiohead is better back when they were a guitar band. I thought that they got MUCH more interesting on OK Computer. That is a landmark album IMO.

If I were you, I'd dig on some of the download sites for Radiohead songs first. There's a lot of great stuff out there including live stuff that isn't available on album.

Radiohead is a unique sound but i really dont like them and I dont understand why there is so much fuss about them.

dont jump into kid a/amnesiac/hail to the thief first....

All of their albums are great

The Bends and OK Computer are probably the best to start with, as well as Pablo Honey.

Kid A, Amnesiac and Hail To The Thief are more "experimental". You may not like them right away, but after a few listens, they will grow on you, and you'll start to appreciate them more But certainly don't expect them to jump on top of you immediately, they will need time and consideration

My favorite Rhead album is The Bends but the new Hail To The Thief is definitely growing on me.
