Radio won't work

I was hooking up a amp to my girlfriend's pickup with aftermarket radio radio works just fine took it out and hooked up remote wire and left and right Jack's for subs put it back the exact same way it came out but radio won't come on take off ground wire to the interface and the radio pops on everything works but the interface is not grounded so speakers won't work but if it's grounded radio turns off any ideals

1. What is the "ground wire to the interface"?

2. Do you know that the amp is working properly (ie, not broken)?

It is a axxcess box it might be called the amp it's just a black box but once I ground It the radio shuts off and a red light comes on in the box

You're creating some sort of short by grounding it, or causing the head unit to go into some sort of safety mode. Check your connections, ground everything properly to the chassis, and make sure you have no bare wires that could be touching metal. Make sure fuses on everything are good.

Yes sir thank you

Thanks, let's see if we can figure this out......

And just to verify, before you did anything the system worked correctly; OnStar, chimes, etc?

Yes sir also the battery has died two days in a row could that be cause the radio is pulling power all the time and the screen just isn't coming on
Yep - sounds like you're getting a fault to ground, so something is continually pulling power, even though it's not powered on.

If you have a multimeter, you could check connections to see which one gives you continuity to ground and isn't supposed to. It might be easier to just pull the wiring and check it again.
