There is something that doesn't quite make sense to me. In radio, the stations have to pay (as I understand it) for each song they play. They do this via one of three companies that also track song play for market reasearch. I find it strange that the stations have to pay to use the songs when the station tracks usage, popularity, population awareness, and basically do the majority of marketing and selling of CD's to consumers. Im I off or does this seem an off balance rule?:disgust: True the record companies provide music as a service, but the radio stations return a larger service back. Preferably I think they should balance out and be free play to all radio stations.

You may also recall there was a push a few years back to make all the little webradio stations pay for song usage even though many did more of the above, including selling more eclectic music that doesnt get radio play in major markets. RESULT: DEATH TO MANY LITTLE COOL WEBSTATIONS! Does anyone know what the final decision on the webradio thing was? Last I recall we were hoping congress would come to save the day by not passing a bill or something like that.

Has webradio survived and revived? I haven't noticed one, but I have been out of the loop a bit during the last year. :frown:

Hmmm, no one has much view of the back side of radio, the FCC, and record labels it seems. I was hoping for some feedback.
