Radio Control Cars!!

I've recently developed an interest out of nowhere in RC cars. I don't know why. I haven't played with one since I was a kid and yet I found myself tonight perusing through www.rccaraction.com Does anyone out there use these things? The reason I am interested is because the good ones have genuine gas powered engines - they must go pretty fast and be fun to play with

Damn, I had a phase (lasted about 4 months) when I was all into RC cars. I even placed an order for a Team Associated TC3 w/Honda Accord body, but it too the manufacturer too long to to release it so I cancelled the ordered.

That ended my infatuatoin.

yeah... i actually still have a RC car and race it all the time. It has a 15cc engine in it and some nice bearings on the wheels and all that good stuff. I can get mine up to about 35-40 mph if I push it hard... They're great fun! but the downside is that they're a bit on the expensive side. Mine cost about $400 altogether...

I think they all do use some sort of nitro... unless they're much bigger. Some might be 2-cycle engines?

Not all, but most. Some use a special type of Diesel fuel.

Actually, it's a .12ci or .15ci (roughly 1.5cc) in most 1/10 scale cars... you may have just forgotten a decimal point, or were in the wrong units I went through a 5 year phase of racing, but now I've sold off all but one car. The only one I have now is a 1/12 scale '69 Dodge Charger painted like the General Lee... Oh, that, and the 115 lb BattleBot that I'm builing

I always wantes a RC10T nitro truck (i'm pretty sure that was the model made by Losi), sadly at age 12 $400 is a TON of money!

I've played around with my friends HPI RS4 Racer 2. He has a 1HP Nova engine on it and that thing is just damn quick.

The RC10T was made by Team Associated. Team Losi made the XX-T, JRXT, Jr. T, etc... pretty any model that starts with RC10 or RC12 comes from Associated.

Anymore sites that you guys know about? I used to be a fanatic and I used to have a Tamiya King Cab (this was way back...). I might be interested in taking it up as a hobby again

HPI Racing is a good place. They got info on their cars and have a rather large forum also.

Like nearly smoking the tires (just by mashing the gas?)
