Hello all,

My new stock of masterkleer is here and my T fitting. So I'm thinking of relaying out my setup. I believe my MCR320 will fit on the bottom of my case but will my cooling performance suffer as I'll be drawing hot air from inside the case? Water guys please chime in with thoughts experiences.

Thanks,

The journey is the ride!
My loops have the cpu rad in the bottom blowing in, the gpu top (220) and back (120) and my case temps are fine.

Excellent thanks wood butcher! LOL you hit the nail on the head WB it's all about the journey. In fact I'll reloop again when my super case arrives the plan is dual loop dual mcr320 all inside need to put that gtx underwater. Yeah Aig you have me hooked what can I say :) also I forgot to add the T line for draining and filling when I first did my loop.

Ok well turns out my case is just not large enough to fit the res/pump I put everything back as before except added a T line and cleaned up my wiring allot. I have noticed my temps have increased by 2 degrees is that normal? ANy way I'll have pics posted soon.

-sponge

Never mind I shook it a bit and a big air bubble came out it where it was before

The coolest possible intake air (from outside the case) is always best, but I wouldn't sweat it TOO much. Do what you have to do now and remember what you've learned for your next refit. Continuing evolution of water cooling subsystems is the fun part, at least IMO.

Agreed in fact I have come to realize my case is not up the the challenge of a dual loop water system. So I'm doing research now on a case that can fit two MCR 320's internally mounted drawing air from the outside or 1 MCR320 and 1 mcr 220
also what makes these thermalchill radiators so expensive? Are they that much better than the swiftech?

Expensive is, of course, a relative thing. TC rads are a few more bucks due to the design and and engineering that goes into them. I popped for a PA (my second TC rad) due to its scalability using a broad range of fans and the fact that it doesn't catch near as much dust as previous and competing offerings. If you're looking at high-end rads Feser is putting out some interesting rads too.

If you're interested in a great water-cooling case, take a gander at MountainMods. They have configurations that'll mount 3x120.3's, easy. :) I THINK you can get Ascention models that'll do 3x120.4's, which is insane!

Thanks for the suggestion hardwarrior but it's really too big for my office. What I'm looking for is a case that can handle two internally mounted radiators. I'm taking a serious look at the Ultra M998 right now...

You're right, it is huge. It's great not to worry about where everything is going to go, though. My U2 was worth it just because of that. Some guy at XS was talking about putting 3 Ascension's together into one case. Now THAT'S ""extreme", baby! ;) Good luck, sponge. I look forward to seeing the product.

LOL three one is big enough! Thanks it will be some time trying to find "the" case we shall see. BTW pics of my added T line are up hopefully I did it right I'm a little concerned as my temps have gone up by two degrees

Considering your pump configuration, I can't any place else where a T would have made sense. Give your TIM a chance to set and you may see a 2c+ drop in temps. BTW, you got just the right top to get maximum performance from your DDC, plus it's really pretty too! :) I love the way the melvin pipe picks up the light.

Thanks HW well I did not remove the ek block when I relooped so I'm wondering if the advance in temps asre due to the added restriction of the T line?

-sponge
BTW the res/top combo was thanks to aigomorla I'm still a water noob but learning :)

I'd be amazed if a T could loose you 2c. It's true that the type of T you're using is one the most restrictive, but we aren't talking about much. Has your CPU block been mounted for at least 200 hours of on and off cycles? Is your DDC mounted to the bottom of your case? If so, feel the bottom plate, where the pump is, to see how hot it is.

Personally I prefer the MCR series price/performance over the higher priced stuff but i'm REALLY REALLY cheap. ;)

Did I read that correctly? Martin says you can run two MC320s in one loop and be fine on restriction? When adding a second radiator to an existing loop this is it tubed up?

-sponge
BTW took T line out went down 3 degrees in temp
