Hello Boys!

So, heres the deal... I want to try to flush my radiator myself because its like 80-90 dollars or so to get it done at a shop.

I read up on HOW to do it and it seems fairly simple... but does anyone know exactly where to locate the drain plug on a 1992 jeep cherokee! i have no idea!

help me please!

and if you have any tips, let me know.

this is the article i read about how to flush the radiator

I'm assuming that the 92 and the 90 both used the same pressurized cooling system. In which case, it's a lot of fun in the masochistic sort of way.

The petcock to drain is on the driver's side underneath the electric cooling fan. It's pretty easy to get at, just turn it until the fluid starts to come out.
Filling it is where the pain in the ass is guaranteed to ensue. There's no radiator cap.
Remove the top hose and pour as much as you can into the radiator through that.
Put the hose back on.
Fill up the tank.
Squeeze the top hose to "pump" the air out and suck the fluid into the system.
Repeat a lot.

After doing some image searches, they changed the cooling system to the standard way. So it should be straightforward and not the god awful way I had to do it on my mom's car.

The 1990 vs. 1991 Jeep Cherokees had a vastly different cooling system. Disregard my first post in this thread.

<-- worked on a 1990 with a lot of miles.
