Hey guys, I'm setting up my watercooling system here, and I have a question.. should my 120mm Panaflo M1A (damn this thing is HUGE, but quiet) blow air from the outside on the radiator, from the inside on the radiator, suck through the radiator and push to outside, or suck through the radiator and push to the inside?

Situation 1
Situation 2
Situation 3
Situation 4

Thanks,
Josh

For best cooling you'd want to have your fan pushing or pulling outside air across your rad. That way you wouldn't be using the warmer air inside your case for cooling your water.

As for pushing or pulling the air through the rad. I believe that it doesn't make a difference, although I'm sure someone will say otherwise. If possible you'd want to have a small gap between your fan and the surface of your rad, that will improve the air flow slightly, but more importantly decrease noise (which I believe you'd be attempting with a water cooling setup.

it would be even more efficient if you have a fan pushing from one side and one sucking from the other, so then you get true air flow, on mine, i put a blow hold at a 90 deg angle in the side of the case so that a 120mm blows fresh air into the case right in front of the radiator, and i also have 120mm pushing air and one pulling, i'm even thinking about putting a 90deg arc angle duct type thing to get the air to just get pulled through the radiator, BTW my case has 2 120mm fan holes, so moding the case is no issue.
