I see these radiator coolant filters they sell on Ebay. It's essentially a metal screen that you put in line with your coolant hose. It looks almost like a metal sock. I also see ones with a metal V screen that is easier to change.

Are these worth it?

When I test drove the VW Rabbit, the salesman was preaching to me about how the rabbits now come with one. I just asked him "Why are those important?" He just immediatly changed the subject and proceeded to tell me that the 08's will get 20 more hp.

As long as you flush your coolant at good regular intervals you shouldn't have anything in your fluid that needs filtered. That is unless you have a more serious problem. A wise man once said, "Don't put a bandage on your elbow for an injury on your knee."

Brilliant idea... once the screen gets clogged you have no coolant flow.
