I have a plasma and the couch is about 10ft away. I have this friend who comes over with his family sometimes and while he comments on how nice it is, he also says the radiation emitting from that thing is bad, BAD! He tells his kids to sit further away and that sitting too close to my plasma will hurt them...and he says he'll hold out for an lcd since they have no radiation. I really dunno how to counter that but i thought plasma emits much less than conventional crts. Anyway, anyone worried, any truth to what he says, am i getting grossly irradiated?

so like anyone know for sure how much bad radiation is emitted by a plasma tv?

Stand in front of a mirror and turn off the lights, if you glow faintly you'll know.

A CRT does emit far more radiation than a plasma screen. And a lifetime in front of a single CRT exposes you to less radiation than a single x-ray.

Your friend is a moron.

That's putting it lightly. I'll go a step farther and suggest that you seek out more intelligent friends, and opine that perhaps this person breeding is a bad thing for the world.
