I recently read the article, and the two forum topics here, on the x800GTOs using unsold R480/R430 Pro chips, and having looked them up they are extremely cheep for a card using one of these chips. I'm wondering, can an x800GTO using an R480 Pro core be up-clocked to the speed of an R480 Pro core? I assume if they are the exact chips, down-clocked, then with a bit of extra voltage can they be up-clocked to R480 Pro speeds?

R480 Pro Core: 520Mhz Core Clock / 1080Mhz Mem Clock
R480 Pro Core in x800GTO: 400Mhz Core Clock/ 980Mhz Mem Clock
>>Suppose if they are really the same core that they can reach the same speed, so it wouldn't really be an "over"clock so much as an "up"clock? I'm a bit confused now, is it a simple clocking matter or is bios tweaking involved? If any has any experience with this part or suspicions about it, please post information.
