The XT will be faster in most games.
The GT will provide SM3.0 support, Purevideo and may pull ahead in some OpenGL games.

So far UT2004 is my only game addiction.
What will SM3.0 give me?
Is Purvideo primarily an HTPC related feature?

The link really doesnt tell you actual in game performance of either card. Which IMHO is what you need to look at. The closest it comes to perforamnce comparison is the 3DMark numbers but you cant compare 3DMark 2005 to 3DMark 2006. Looking at the details of the specs I'd say at worse they are same performance level. If that is the case and they are same price I'd go with 7600GT simply because of the newer technology built into the 7600GT. I'd want to see some actual in game performance numbers first though before choosing either.
