You got me, I see no difference on the card physically, maybe the dvd edition is better at movie editing. The DVD edition is $30 cheaper

I have no idea, but based on the specs (16 pipelines, 256MB GDDR3, etc.) I'd imagine it's the same card. But how often does ATi confuse customers with unclear product names and marketing? :p

BUndled games on DvD's therefore only needing 1 dvd instead of several CDs for bundles? Else, dunno

Interesting. They took the DVD edition off their website.

(edited to clarify which product)

I called up pre-sales support and the rep said that they're the exact same card. It must be based on the bundled software. He also stated that it may have been removed because it wasn't selling well compared to the other X800XL offering (but not to quote him on that ;))

Wow, $30 discount for saving them 25 cents in manufacturing. nice business model.

I highly doubt that the $30 difference is the cost for pressing and packaging of the discs. More than likely, it's the cost of the bundled software.

The $330 card comes with free shipping, while the $300 card you pay extra for shipping.

Also, with the $330 card you get an s-video & composite video cables, while the $300 card doesn't include either.
