Radeon X1900 CrossFire

I am picking up a radeon X1900 512mb crossfire with the idea that in the future I will buy a slave card for it to run crossfire. My question is I can run the single crossfire card until I pick up the new one right? just will have a slower clock spd?

You can run a Crossfire Master card by itself and it will operate at stock speeds.
