ok.

My friend bought a radeon, we installed the drivers that came with it ok... Bench 4000 in 3d mark

today we install the catalys drivers, great, bench 4500

we oc the card, get it to almost 4800

restart the puter, and now we cant even hit 4000, what the hell gives?

the card is a radeon 8500 le 64 meg..

is there any utility to completely wipe the radeon drivers out so we can do a clean install? i want to avoid a format at all costs

You should always go to add/remove programs and remove ATi's drivers (and then restart) before you install new ones. Try doing this and then reinstalling the Catalysts.

Also unless you've set your overclocking utility to use your settings automatically when your computer first starts up you'll have to keep re-applying your overclocking settings each time you restart your computer.
