Needing some help on deciding what to go with, and this is the place to find out. I have a ECS K75SA running a 1 ghz 266FSB Tbird, and have a max of $85 to spend on a video card. Alas, my gaming days have dwindled, but I still get in some time each week, and would like to have a good overall card w/ TV-out. I play some high frame rate shooters, and 2D games as well. Resolution settings don't have to be maxed, but a hot card for the money would be nice. I realize I won't be reaching into the higher performance cards, but with my time and money limitations, I can go with a lower end card and save my pennies for GEFORCE 5......... maybe by then I'll have more time to play.

Any suggestions?

I think u can get an nVidia GTS card for that price now...thats the way to go ;)
If you play CS then an MX is good enough also..;)

Well, if you need the TV out, you need to get an MX. I would recomend two cards: the Gainward card with the 3.5 ns ram, or an abit t400 64mb from mwave should be around that price. If you're willing to spend 5-10 more dollars, you can get a 32mb Visiontek GTS which will blow both of those away. You can get it from geeks or compgeeks... I dunno. It's on the hot deals forum.

I've found an INNO3D 64mb MX400 w/ TV for $71 plus shipping. Radeon LE w/ TV for $74 plus shipping. What makes the GTS such a large upgrade, as if it's only a few dollars more, the bang for buck quotient comes into play.

And thanks for all the help. This site has been a great find.

I saw a Hercules 3D Prophet 4500 64MB Kyro II TV-Out at Newegg.com for $100. $15 more then you want to spend but hey for the large increase in performance that this holds over a Radeon LE and Geforce 2 MX400 its worth it unless you can find a good GTS board with TV-Out for the same price or less (when I say good I mean a GTS board with good 2d).

EDIT: I just looked in the hot deals forum and that 32mb GTS from comp geeks doesn't have TV-Out.
