Radeon vs. GF4

Sorry, haven't been following up on the video card sector lately. But I'm looking to buy a new one here soon (either now or in the next few months). Why? Because my current one is a Savage 4 🙁. Plus, I want to be able to play Doom3 when it comes out this spring. I think the price will most likely need to be in the $100-$150 range. I've heard good things about the GF4 Ti4200, and I might be able to get that for under 150 if I look hard. But then I've also more recently heard good things about the Radeon 9x00 series. So for my pricerange which would be the better buy, a GF4 ti4200, a GF4 MX 460, or a Radeon 9000/9500 Pro?

If you can afford the extra money the 9500Pro is undeniably a much better board then any of the others you listed, sheer vertex shading performance alone should help to assure it will solidly trumph over any of the GF4 series in Doom3.

The MX460 isnt really worth even talking about when put in the same sentence as the Ti4200/R9500. The R9000Pro is respectable but in terms of gaming performance wil trail the Ti4200 but a small but respectable margin.

Agreed, 9500 Pro (emphasize Pro) is first choice. ti4200 is second choice. No third choice listed.
