Is there a marked difference in visual quality of video IN (such as a VCR on your monitor) between the ol' Voodoo3 3500TV and the shiny-new Radeon All In Wonder or 64MB VIVO? I know games look much, much better, but I'm also concerned about the quality of video in and occasional video editing. I'd go for a Matrox Marvel, but the Radeon is only a touch more expensive. I'm juuuuust about able to justify the move.... what are your opinions/experiences? :)

Having seen neither, I would assume that the ATI is better. TV out, DVD, and other features have always been strong points of ATI cards.

The ATI cards are far superior to 3dfx when it comes to video features. The Rage Theate chip used on the Radeon is about the best consumer vivo setups you can get.

the Rage Theatre chip uses 10-bit output and is the best digital VIVO\audio chip on the market, the closest competitor is the Phillips chip which only does 9-bit output.

I can get a AIW Radeon for $250 yay!

That Rage Theater chip is on both the AIW and the 64MB VIVO, isn't it? :)
That makes the choice tougher... what's REALLY on the AIW that makes it different? Better MPEG2 ENcoding? TV tuner? Anything? :Q

Basicly the only difference between the AIW and the 64mb DDR is the TV tuner. So unless you really need a TV tuner the 64mb would probably be the better choice.

bluemax, JUST GO GET THE CARD! You know you want it! By the time you make up your mind, Hawk will be sold out of them. It will be hard to find another deal like that one. Mine should get here today (64 meg VIVO).

I believe there is also a speed difference between the AIW and the VIVO. The VIVO is clocked much higher, so if you want some gaming muscle, get the VIVO.
