Radeon Video Card Issues with Age of Mythology

I am now about ready to send back the AIW radeon 7500 i bought a few weeks ago because I can't play this game for 30 minutes without the video card turning off the monitor or just exiting the program totally or rebooting my computer for no reason. Age of Mythology is truly one of the greatest games I've ever played, but I can't take this anymore. The problems I've had are with the file ati2dvag.dll which is the driver file for windows xp I'm assuming. I've dowloaded the newest drivers from ati, but without the ease of uninstalling and reinstalling drivers, this is really becoming a pain. are these problems typical of all video cards or is this a result of crappy drivers? does anyone out there have any ideas? thanks
