Radeon VE vs. Voodoo3 3000

I strongly considering getting a Radeon VE for my system. I really want a dual display setup and would like to do without the trouble of two cards. I'll be running Win98, btw. My question is this:

How favorably will the 3D performance of the VE compare with the Voodoo3 I have in there now? I know the VE isn't a gaming card but how will the two match up? Thanks!

Well, the Radeon VE doesn't beat the Voodoo 3 3000 by much in 16 bit color but it does beat it, and the image quality is better on the Radeon. The Voodoo card won't do 3D in 32 bit color, though, and that's where the Radeon makes its bread and butter. The answer to your question is YES, the Radeon VE IS a better card for 3D.
