Radeon VE or GeForce2 MX?

I want to purchase a video card for my computer. What video card should I choose: a Radeon VE, Radeon SDR or a GeForce 2 MX400?

I won't use the secondary video output (if any). I am interrested in gaming performance and quality, but (very interested) in price
I do want Linux compatibility, so the exotic (Kyro 2) solution does not apply.
Thanks

Let me narrow it down for you... you do NOT want the VE.

even though it says DDR memory, it is not faster than the radeon SDR b/c it has a crippled chipset.

Now, between the MX400 and Radeon SDR, I would sorta lean toward the MX side.

BTW, you can pick up a radeon LE for cheap and turn it into a RADEON DDR with a simple registry hack, and then it would be faster than the MX.

I would stay away from the Radeon LE. I have one and the drivers haven't been very good. Whichever drivers I use give me different conflicts in certain games: right now I'm using the oldest drivers on their website because its the only that will work with SeaDogs. Looking at Pricewatch, I'd go for a 32 mb GTS: it's only $65, only 5 dollars more than a Radeon LE.

As I am living in Romania, I could go very well to a GigaByte GeForce 2 MX 400, 32 MB for 100 $.
Or some noname cards for only 80$.
Well, the good side is that the 64 MB MX400 versions are only slightly more expensive.
🙁
