RADEON TEXT MODE PROBLEM

Hi,
I am having a wierd problem with my ATI RADEON 32MB DDR. It is displaying what looks like double text in the linux console, and in windows 2k before it loads the gui(at the hit f8 to start in safe mode part). Basically text mode is useless, as it displays garbled double/two column text in these modes. It runs fine in Windows and Xwindows. I am running on a Rioworks PDVIA-LS (Apollo Pro 133a) smp board. The funny thing is that this just started happening, no problems with the board before this point. Has anyone experienced this before.
