Thanks for the tip Despoiler.

Sad that in the release notes under "Disclaimer" it still indicate that the AMD Performance lab used an Intel 5960x cpu as the test bed, especially since AMD Ryzen 7-1800x has been out for over a month!:cool::rolleyes:

If I was Dr. Lisa Su, I would be rattling some cages at that AMD test bed lab!

So I figured out where the poor FPS in the 17.4.x branch is coming from. It has to do with a second monitor being plugged in. Both my monitors are using display port. The work around is to unplug and then plug the second monitor back in. The FPS is just as high as the 17.3.x branch once that is done. I submitted a bug report to AMD.

DirectX 12 games are back to working again on my brother's Q6600 system with these drivers. They weren't launching in 17.4.2; I thought it was possibly a re-occurence of the issue last year where older CPUs that don't support the popcnt instruction set couldn't launch DX12 games. In any case, it seems fixed again. I did just have the Radeon Settings app crash on my as I was trying to pull up the "gaming" tab, though. It didn't affect the system or anything, the app just crashed.

Anyone have Forza Horizon 3 to test the loading times? With the previous 17.4.3, the loading time was ridiculously long - even installed on an SSD.

It might be slower the first time while it does the shaders, but those should be cached for other loads.

Right, I tried loading it up about 10-15 times thinking the same, but it didn't help. Game took about 5 mins to load each time, hahaha. Digital Foundry mentions the loading issue as well:

Bothered myself to test and it's still bugged. Takes forever to load, has the same weird corruption in the same exact area shown in the Digital Foundry video. So if anyone's playing FH3, prepare for the wonky behavior. I went back to using 17.2.1 and it's fine. 17.4.3 didn't have the corruption IIRC, but had the lengthy load times.

Since upgrading to the new driver, when I run cinebench I crash almost immediately, I didn't have this problem with prior driver, also 3DMark doesn't recognize the driver.

I have neither of those issues.

I am going to further investigate what is going on, but the driver change was the only variable I made prior to crash vs non crash. I just noticed the unrecognized driver issue in 3DMark as it didn't "greenlight" my score validation.

It could possibly any number of factors besides the driver...just starting there and seeing what happens. I plan on rolling back to the previous driver and see if I have any issues.

Having issues with a Lenovo Laptop with an A6-6310 APU, and these drivers.
Win7 Pro 64-bit. Laptop screen turns off, hitting SHIFT doesn't bring it back again, once this happens, seems like I need to do a forced-reboot.
