I have a Radeon AIW, running on a MSI K7T Pro2a, T-bird 1ghz @ 1.325, 384mb of RAM, etc.. and the highest score I've seen, or received with the 3DMark 2000 is ~ 2785.... That seems a bit low doesn't it? I have power strip running, with the card overclocked to 184mhz with stock HSF on the video card..

Please post your scores, and tell me how you achieved them.

thanks!

Okay, I've got a Radeon DDR LE, Abit KT7,Durong 600@900, 128 MB PC133, blah blah, and I've gotten about 4450 in 1024X786 32bit color. In the default, i get about 4800. This is with it clocked to 183/183 and with all the "optimal" settings set.... just some registry tweaks.

You should MAKE SURE that your via 4in1 drives are installed. My friend had a G2MX and it ran @about 4500 on mine, but when he used it on his computer, it only got a measly 1700... He got it up to 4500 just like mine when he updated the via 4in1 drivers. Try that and tell me what happens.

oldfart: why are you using 16bit Z in the 32bit benchmark? The default is 32bit Z

I'll have to look at the setup. I'm not a big 3DMark kind of guy. I may well have screwed it up. That's one of the reasons I don't like it. Too many variables to use it as a standard.

I only use it to bench my own system. Get around 5600 at default and SLIGHTLY lower in 32 bit.

dang it...i just ran my benchmark for my 32mb ddr radeon on a p3-700 w/128mb ram...only got about 3600. Does this seem low? I've only installed regular drivers and ran at default benchmarks. Is this a normal score or should I haev to do some tweaking to get higher scores? What tweaks do you guy find most helpful?

Alright, I fixed my AGP1X problem and it improved about 100 points to 4550 in 32 bit and about 4900 in 16 bit. I'm thinking right now the difference in those 2-300 points, is my cpu right now. The one on hardocp.com was a p3 933 and I've got a Durong 900. So when I get a new hs/f I'll post my results again to see if it goes higher, or if it is the video card that is bottlenecking my system.

Ok, after all the registry tweaks and driver updates, blah blah, I STILL CAN NOT get my score past 2700!??! What am I doing wrong?

Would a refresh install work?? I'm soo irritated.

Another thing, does anyone else have this problem? When I am playing CS, and I look on the ground while running, the ground is somewhat blurry, but when I get closer to that point, it becomes more and more clear?

Please, anyone? help
this sucks

Hmmm.... I'm not sure what you could do now. Usually the reg. tweaks and the via 4in1 drivers should fix most of the problems.

well, does anyone have any links to sites or places where I can d/l most of the reg tweaks? it's kind of disappointing to see that my video card could only perform at its peak, as a Vanta or TNT or something..

please? :)

Just how high can these go??? I've got my Radeon 32 DDR Retail running at 187, but I'm not sure how much farther I can push it. I'm running the Samsung memory, which is 6ns isnt it? I'm concerned about frying the card, what can I do for temp monitoring and stability testing etc etc??

I have my 32 DDR OEM(166mhz default)running @183 mhz with a big,no,HUGE fan blowing sideways to the card.At 200mhz its stable,getting artifacts @201mhz.The memory is
Samsung 6ns like yours.Id recommend 183mhz if you intend to keep your Radeon for more than 2 months.I fried my previous 32DDR RETAIL(damn it,i payed 300+ cad for that one)in less than 2 months by running it at 205mhz.

Have you checked for IRQ conflicts?
Also boot in safe mode and check device manager for hardware that appears twice or anything else strange(ie harware you know you dont have).
Latest 4 in 1s and AGP vxd in Turbo mode?
Leave the PCI slot next to the AGP empty and try 3dmark again.
Assign IRQ to VGA option in BIOS(if exists)
Last thing...the F word:D

yeah, it shows that my Radeon is sharing IRQ 5 w/ 2 other instances of VIA USB Universal Host Controller, and my onboard audio IRQ 3 is shared w/ my RAID Controller..

Is there any way to change the IRQ?

and how do you boot up in safe mode for Windows 2000? F8 at the startup screen?

thanks for the input, and i'll test those out

What drivers are you using with your radeon card? The first release of the win2k drivers were said to be horrible. The new beta drivers are suppost to get you within 10 percent of 9x's performance.. from what I have been told. Im suppost to get my radeon sometime this week. I will let you know how things go with win2k.

i downloaded some new "special drivers" from the ATI homepage for win2k. the new drivers actually decreased my performance and dropped 200 points in 3dmark. I reinstalled the official drivers bringing the benchmarks back up a little and hope that they have some new win2k drivers soon
