Radeon RX 480

Any difference between this card and the 8GB version? How is this card with GOW4?

It's not worth it to buy the RX 480 4GB right now imo, because for only $25 there is a $225 PowerColor Red Devil RX 480 8GB.

Gears of War 4 performance is excellent.

The harder choice is $225 RX 480 8GB or $240 GTX1060 6GB. GTX1060 6GB is about 6-7% faster and the price difference is also about 6-7%.

Don't forget the $25 off $200 with MasterPass discount code via MasterPass checkout on Newegg.

MasterPass doesn't work on the AMD cards because of that stupid BF1 coupon.

There is a MSI 4GB RX480 for $180 After Rebate going on now.

Seems like a good value for 1080p gaming. 8GB is 25% more expensive, but you probably won't get 25% more fps until future games with higher-res textures become more common.

That's a good point. Sounds like $185 RX 480 4GB or $225 (after masterpass) GTX1060 6GB are the primary choices then.

So it's between the PowerColor and the MSI card. Currently $40 difference without rebates. $45 difference once rebates are processed.

Do you have Gears of War 4 already? If you have to buy a $200 RX 480 4GB and then spend another $60 on GOW4, maybe just get a $380 GTX1070? If that's outside your budget, I'd see if you can stack $25 off $200 with a GTX1060 6GB card. Otherwise, I'd get an RX 480 4GB.

1060 3GB is a poor buy compared to a Rx 480 4GB at same price. the Rx 480 has more memory and 3GB is just not enough for the latest games. Get the MSI Rx 480 4GB Gaming. In its OC mode at 1316 Mhz its pretty much on par with a ref Rx 480 8GB which throttles and runs at 1200 Mhz.

The MSI Gaming Rx 480 in OC mode would be pretty much on par with GTX 1060 3GB. Keep in mind many of the sites are still testing 2013-2015 games. But if you consider more recent games running DX12 / Vulkan the Rx 480 4GB would be clearly faster than GTX 1060 3GB.
