I have a few questions for the experts out there. I fanyone has the time it would be a big help to me. Thanks!

-I recently bought a Sapphire 9500 Pro OEM. I'm wondering if I'm missing out on anything by not having got the retail version? It came with all the drivers, I think the only thing it doesn't come with is the DVD Player/Multi Media Center. Is that a big deal? By not having that DVD Player/Multi Media center am I not going to be accessing all the special hardware capabilities of the card that are supposed to help with DVD playback and internet video files?

-Is Sapphire a quality product? I hear different things.

-Any other companies besides Sapphire and Powercolor that make OEM cards for ATI?

-I heard that some version of the 9500 non-pro can be turned into 9700 Pro's, is this still the case with the new cards? And is that actually overclocking the card or just unlocking it's potential?

-I'm also thinking of stepping up to a 9700 non-pro. Can all of them be turned into 9700 Pro's with that bios flash? Or do I have to get a certain brand? And also, is that an overclock or just unlicking the potential of the card?

-I'd like some recommendations about exactly which card to get. Please give an example of a 9500 that can be turned into a 9700 Pro, a 9500 Pro, and a 9700 that can be turned into a Pro. Is it hard to track down the right card? I see that some people who have bought the same card get versions with different ram and fans. What is the best ram and fans to have?

Thanks!!!

i'll take a S T A B (forbidden word?) at a couple questions:

another OEM maker is FIC. just ordered my FIC A97 (9700 non-pro)

it seems that most of the manufacturers are pretty good. i'm sure if there was a big quality issue, it would be quite apparent. do a search in the video forum and you probably won't come up with muany quality problems (at least for ATI product *cough*)

re: 9500->9700 i dunno, search the video forum i believe the only difference 9700 pro/non-pro is core/memory speeds. can someone confirm this?

ram: the faster timing the better. 2.8 is better/more overcloackble than 3.3

fans: it comes with a HSF unit :)
