Radeon or Geforce2 MX

Hey all. I'm new the the boards, been lurking around reading for a while, and I finally have a question.

I'm currently using a Voodoo3 3000 and as you know XP doesn't support it. I've been researching bargin cards trying to figure out what I want to upgrade to. First off, my goal is to get a new card for around $80 or so. I had been looking at the Pine Tech. Geforce2 MX400 64mb that costs around that and had nearly decided on getting it. I figured this would give me the best bang for the buck. Then i started reading more about the bargin Radeons and now I'm not so sure. The Radeon 7200 SDR looks to be around the same price or so. My question is, what would give me the best performance of these two? Or, if there is something different I should be looking at, please tell me what that is.

I mostly play EverQuest on my system, and also Counterstrike. Having something that rules for Quake3 or UT isn't a must for me. My system right now is a Pentium Celeron 466 with 320 mb RAM.

Thank you all for your help, I look forward to your expert advice!

check out the frontpage on anandtech.com there is a link to a site that has new drivers for the voodoo3 and winxp.

Here is the link.

The SDR Radeon is about the same performance as a GF2 MX but has a better picture quality. The Radeon LE is about the same price and outperforms the MX easily, and when you overclock it, its the same as a $120 card. IMO, the MX is the worst 3d card you can buy right now.
