Radeon + OpenGL = Bad?

Is it just me or do all the games using OpenGL with the Radeon 64 look bad? I've tried it on CS and Unreal and both look terrible. any suggestions?

I use OpenGL with Tribes, works fine, but that game is fairly limited graphics wise. I also tried the OpenGL render in UT, looked great, but was a bit slower than D3D, so I didn't stick with it. Don't know what sort of problems you are having, I think Q3 looks so-so in 16bit, but I don't know about other games (aside from those I mentioned). Some feedback back from Tribes2 (OpenGL) beta testers is that the Radeon rocked in that upcoming game.

Hmm what drivers are you running? I've been running the 7068's and they have the best image quality IMO yet. It's very good in basically every game. I haven't tried the newest official drivers but I hear they aren't much of a difference.

I never had problems with OpenGL with the Radeon. Looked very purdy. However, under D3D, now that's a different story. FSAA had problems, some old games would not work right and if I fully enabled HyperZ, it corrupted many of my games.

make sure in the video settings under OpenGl tab you select quality, i noticed the default was Performance

ok so Quality. hmm yeah OpenGL in UT was messed up, had crossiung textures. you could see through obhject. i'll try it again though. and in CS, the text was all grainy. suggestions?

Lets put it this way. Only a few weeks ago I was playing Quake 3 in 640x480 16 bit color. After I put in my radeon first thing I went to was Quake 3. Put that sucker at 1024x768 and 32 bit color with everything on high. I started up Quake 3 and it was like a new light for me. The graphics rock so much.I could compare it to the first time I played Quake 2 in Opengl (my first time ever playing anything in opengl) instead of software. Anyways Im going off on a tangent, but what Im saying is that pretty much every game I have seen so far in opengl on my pc looks fine, but the d3d in UT is screwed up on me when I put the detail too high.
