Radeon Never Settle Space & Civ: BE Steam Keys not working

Anyone else recently buy a Radeon and were unsuccessful in getting the free games? I was able to enter my code into the AMD webpage, I got the email with the game keys, but when I try to enter all four games into Steam, it said that their keys were already used by another account and thus invalid.

I have a ticket out to AMD support (no reply yet), but I find it very strange that all four wouldn't work. I tried a quick search on Google and couldn't find anyone else reporting the same issues. Was wondering if anyone here has had the same problem when trying to redeem their codes and what they were able to do to fix it. Thanks.

If it matters, this is the list of games I had selected -

Tomb Raider
Alien Isolation
Company of Heroes 2
Civilization: Beyond Earth

Been reading these forums for a while now and finally decided to register because of this post. I'm also having this issue with Civilization BE. I have a ticket out with AMD and have yet to receive a reply or even confirmation that the ticket was received. I'm assuming this has something to do with the maintenance from yesterday. I'm holding on to my AMD gold reward ticket until I hear something from them.

dsotm172, thank you for your post. Sorry to hear you're running into the same issue.

I doubt this will help, but I will be submitting this to Steam Support as well. I included that another person (you) also had this issue in case that helps raise awareness that this may not be an isolated incident.

Steam says they can't help anyone with CD Keys online, so they will probably say it is an AMD issue, but I hope that with enough complaints they may be able to escalate to their AMD support contacts using their existing relationship so someone can look into it.

Will keep this thread updated with anything I find out. Thanks.

I don't have enough posts yet to PM an admin apparently. Hopefully Actaeon will do that. I should also point out that I have a steam support ticket out also. Unfortunately they don't handle duplicate cd key problems. I changed my support ticket to invalid cd key and have yet to get a response. I'm surprised I haven't read anything about this problem anywhere else yet.

Just wondering since Steam is saying its already been used, that it is possible their system isn't generating new keys and it sending out the same ones over and over.

Since we both registered for these games last night, I thought it would be interesting if we compared the last few digits of our Civ:BE key.

Are your last 3 digits of your Civ:BE key 'RY6'?

No, mine is 'IMJ'. I'm guessing the AMD maintenance yesterday somehow broke their key generation though. We'll see for sure if this problem blows up in the next few days.

Ok cool, theory debunked! I sent a message over to Warsam71, hoping he can help.

I generated my key yesterday around 4 EST. Was able to install and play today. Sorry for the issues hopefully they will be resolved. Could be an issue with pirated keys? Maybe an unauthorized reseller has generated some? Unless AMD had a DB issue and sent the keys to multiple users.

Thank you for the feedback. Crossing my fingers we get a resolution but I haven't heard from anyone yet. I believe the maintenance period was after 4pm EST (should have completed closer to 10-11pm EST).

A post on the AMD forums...

Good news! I just recieved the following from Star Citizen:

-------------------

Hi there,

Just wanted to update everyone that we are looking into this with AMD now. We aren't sure what the issue is exactly, but once I find out more information I will be sure to keep you updated! Thank you for your understanding and patience!

Best,
Chelsea

------------------

I hope that by Star Citizen raising the issue with AMD, they have awareness of the problem and will dig into the other games as well.

It's a start at least. Have you heard back from AMD about your ticket yet? I haven't.

I just submitted a ticket through the AMD site directly. Not the AMD rewards site. I tried to outline the problem as well as I could. I also provided a link to this thread. I've already received an automated response from AMD for this ticket. I'll keep you updated when I hear something further.

Finally heard back from AMD4U about my ticket.

"Hi,

We are currently working on resolving your issue and will get back to you as soon as possible.

Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us."

Not much there but at least I now know that they received my ticket. Anyone else hear back about their ticket yet? I also submitted two tickets to AMD4U. They responded to the second one. If you haven't heard back from them yet I'd fire off another ticket and hope for the best.

For me when I got my bundle I didn't register the games right away. Farcry Blood Dragon didn't work, took a couple days for me to finally be able to get it after multiple support tickets. Just hang tight.

Thanks for the update and feedback. Glad to hear AMD got back to you.

I haven't gotten a response back from my previous tickets, but I sent another ticket request to AMD earlier today. Instead of the Radeon Rewards site, I went through the primary AMD Service site. I included the links to the threads I've found including this one.

Just for kicks I tried to use the codes again earlier this morning. Still did not work.

How I got mine handled was I contacted Ubisoft and said my FC BloodDragon Key wasn't working. They told me that it had to be handled by AMD. I told them I hadn't gotten a response from AMD. They told me that if I submitted proof of no response in the ticket, they would resolve the issue.

I would try the same with Steam.
Most LIKELY someone bruteforced a keygen or something and stole the keys before they were used(My theory anyway).

I'd try contacting Steam support and seeing if they'll do the same for you. I think I provided Ubisoft my receipt+proof of contact to AMD with no response and they helped me out after that.

If Ubisoft was able to do that for me, I think Steam should be able to.
Sadly though, Steam doesn't have a support number to contact, one of the few things that the service should improve upon.

Calling AMD didn't do much for me, they don't have many good lines to contact but you could try it. I know when I had issues with Logitech, I called their headquarters and spoke to someone VERY high up to get my issue resolved. It definitely wasn't their job, they just sent me a new device instantly, didn't even do it through a support ticket or anything so I actually got a second one when my support ticket finally went through.

Sorry to hear about the inconvenience man, it's too bad people scam CD Keys like that and make it difficult for legitimate customers who deserve the games.

Thanks for sharing your feedback. I am glad to hear you got yours working, even if it was a bit of a headache. I will try the publisher as a last resort, it'll be a bit of a pain since I think every game I had chosen were from different publishers. I tried to send a message to Steam and I got an automated response saying they don't deal with Invalid Keys, but nothing beyond that. I can try again.

I really think it AMD should take ownership of the problem. They ran the promotion, they got my money, they are the ones that gave me a code that didn't work like they said it would. Whether through brute force key gens, hacks, bad database, etc. they surely must have some business processes setup to address customer issues like this. I'm pretty shocked at their Customer Service, both as a customer of theirs and as a professional in this Consumer Electronics industry. Email support that ends up in a black hole. No responses from anyone. No monitoring of their support forums or social pages. I've sent 5 direct inquiries to AMD through various methods and nothing from them.

Anyway, I appreciate your feedback. I guess going the corporate route could work as well. I know people at both Intel and NVIDIA, but can't think of anyone I would know that is at AMD. But maybe I'll stop by their front desk (AMD's Sunnyvale Headquarters is a like 2 miles away from where I work). It will be hard to ignore me then :D.

I also saw this response on the AMD forums. Looks like the Star Citizen folks are getting it resolved, they said it was due to a database problem with AMD. Wonder if that affected other games as well.

Update from Star Citizen on this issue:

-------

Hi there,

Thank you very much for your patience while we investigated this! It turns out there was an error in AMD's code system and they will need to issue you a new code.

I have been asked to have you please contact AMD's customer support to get this resolved. Please be sure to include the code you were provided, email it was registered to, and proof of purchase for them. You can contact them through: http://www.amd4u.com/radeonrewards/ticket

I am going to leave this ticket on hold for now, please let me know once this has been resolved for you with AMD and I will close this out.

Let me know if there is anything else I can do for you!

Best,
Chelsea

I did manage to submit a ticket this time, so apparently the AMD support form isn't broken.

Hopefully I'll get a quick response.

They told me that if I submitted proof of no response in the ticket, they would resolve the issue.
And how they think that you could prove that you did not get a response from AMD? Forward them a non-existing e-mail?

Yeah, it will be tough to prove you didn't get a response. AMD4U only gives you a confirmation page, no confirmation email. On my last request (yesterday) I took a screenshot along with the text I sent.

Standard AMD support gives you a confirmation email, but I haven't seen a reply yet. I sent this back on Tuesday or Wednesday. No reply yet.

Poor support across the board.

Here are a few other comments I've found on the AMD forums

I've gotten the same problem. Both my Civ: Beyond Earth and Never Settle UID codes were not valid. This is absurd.

I am having same difaculty reaching any one at AMD support.

chelsea is a great customer service person over at CIG.

I can not even log into my amd4u website now. i just get a check your e-mail for authentication. that never comes.

some people where saying to try and wait 24hrs. (it been 2-3 days.)

i even tryed to submiting a support ticket and can not tell if it whent threw.

I never get a e-mail responding we recieved your ticket etc.

Hell i came here to hope that i would read something about a bug/fix or they are snowed in or something. and again i have to make yet another account for this forum. and wait for a password to be asigned.

They seriously have me worried that terrorist have stormed there building or alien ship has landed and keeping the AMD employees hostage.
