Radeon MMC question

I recently bought an OEM 9700 card. I heard radeons have hardware DVD decoding so I wanted to give it a try. Unfortunately, my OEM manufacturer's installation cd did not have the ATI's DVD Player. I went over to ATI's website to download it but was dissapointed to know that in order install the ATI MMC suite, you need to have ATI's original installation CD! Is there no way to try the hardware DVD thing? What the hell!
