Neither was the LE. It was clocked at 166 and can also go quite a bit higher.

I'm wondering what the Radeon LE &quot;overclocked&quot; bar is on the RHS then? 😉

I assume what you mean is that the LE will overclock much higher than 166 and that result could be shown as the true &quot;overclocked&quot; potential?

The truth is that the choice of card really depends on what resolution you will play at and possibly more importantly which games you will play

If you play Unreal or Quake III in 16bit at 1024 x 768 then the MX is the card for you - however if those games are not what you generally play then you need to look at benchmarks for that particular game

I generally only play Counterstrike - I'd be interested to see how well an MX/LE performs in those (HL) benchmarks. The truth is that even if the LE was faster - the MX is already very fast and smooth.

I'll be quite honest - (I changed from a GF 256) I was considering upgrading to a Radeon - then I saw a few posts about driver issues etc. One of my friends asked for advice about a new system and he was interested in the Radeon also - I mentioned the driver problems that were being reported. He ordered the Radeon AIW - but unfortunately the shop could not get new stock for a couple of weeks - so he got an MX as a temporary card - he was so pleased with the MX that he told the shop to forget about the AIW!
I'm not suggesting that an MX is better than an AIW by any stretch of the imagination - but for his needs it was already more than enough 🙂

The real problem here in Hong Kong though is that an MX is almost half the price of the cheapest Radeon available HK$530 (US$68) vs HK$1050 (US$135) so the choice of a &quot;budget&quot; Radeon over a &quot;budget&quot; Geforce 2 is a no brainer.

Trying to be objective here - latest prices for Radeon's are

LE = HK$940 (US$123)
DDR = HK$1380 (US$177)
AIW = HK$2240 (US$288)

A GF2 GTS is HK$1350 (US$174)

Radeon DDR or GTS2?..what will it be?....hmm...... 😉
