Radeon LE overheating?

I've recently had some problems with my Radeon LE causing a system reboot while playing LinksLS 2001 in the 3D rendering mode. If I change to software rendering (bogus) I have no problems running. I run for about 10 minutes with 3D rendering and then reboot. I've tried reducing the clock speed to default but still get the reboots. The video processor seems a little warm to the touch but not sure if that would cause a reboot Any recommendations? Thanks.

What card did you have in your system before?

It can be $ of things but overheating wouldn't be one of them. Ramdom reboots would be your power supply, memory problems, or bad installation of windows.

Previously I had a TNT2 card... I think a Diamond TNT2 ultra. I understand it could be several things causing a reboot... it's just peculiar that it doesn't reboot if I use software rendering. Also the reboots are not random, they happen when I use 3D rendering.

I haven't tried any other 3D games... a good excuse to play some though. I'm pretty sure my card is running all default values now (no tweaks). I have a few things to try tonite.
