Radeon LE or VE? Digital output or analog?

I have an LCD monitor, and i'm now in the market for a new vid card. I was going for budget now since i don't game much, and since the ATI Radeon's are the only budget cards that come with DVI support was was wondering if I should get the Radeon VE or the LE. THe VE comes with DVI and decreased performance and the LE has only a VGA out.

I guess my question is how much quality is compromised by the LCD monitor's conversion of an analog signal (from the better performing LE version) into digital? SHould i sacrifice performance for quality?

Any help is appreciated

I have no idea about the LCD thing, but in terms of performance the LE is worlds ahead of the VE.
