I just bought a Radeon LE. I went ahead and flashed the bios and OCed it to 183. Hyper Z is also enabled. Then I go to test it out in 3dMark 2001 and get a sh*tty score of 2126! Then I go to play Diablo2 and get average of 20 frames or less! Is it my processor? I have a duron 700, MSI K7T Pro2-A, 256 meg ram. Is my processor slowing me down? Help!

Ok put it this way. I know for sure its a hardware problem. Its either the card or the processor. And how do I tell if my Card has hyper Z enabled? Is there a test?

Flashing the bios does NOT enable HyperZ, you need to enable it yourself.

Go Here and download the rade3d tweak.

:) Go to Rage3D.com. You can either download the tips and tweaks, they're especially for Radeon cards, or surf the forums and check to see who has a set up similar to yours and what tweaks they use.
One of the reasons the Radeon LE is so popular is that it can be overclocked, giving you a DDR board for less money.

I was really pissed when I found out I'd been sold a Radeon LE instead of Radeon 32DDR retail, not anymore. It's a very good card but, the OC results varies but not too much. It's still the best bang for the buck. A very good bang. OK this is it.....

Go to http://www.tweakfiles.com/video/radeontweaker.html
and down load the Radeon Tweaker 1.0.3 (there are others but, this is the best to begin with. It has a very good tutorial. Hover over each entry and look to the right. You'll see an explanation and recommendation to check or uncheck that entry. Follow the recommendations at first. Play around later.
When you have finished with the Direct3d and OpenGL settings go to the *overclocking tab* set clock at 183 to begin with. Then work your way up. (I don't run stable over 187/187 and keep my setting at 185 most times) My madonion 3dmark2001 is 3222. http://gamershq.madonion.com/compare2k1.shtml?1160252
I have run a benchmark of 3298 but, it is not very constant or stable with the tweaks. Around 3220-3230 is very good mark and stable. Game play is great. Oh yea, you must use Direct X 8. I get better with 8 rather than 8.a direct x. but, 8.a is fine if you already have it installed.
I have an 800 T-bird OCd to 1030. I suggest you OC that Duron, if you have good cooling. Bump it up 150Mhz anyway, you wont have any problems with that.
If you are not getting the results you think you should always go back and check your settings. It's very easy to make a mistake if you are not very careful.
Feel free to contact me via E-mail if you have any problems. Be sure to download 1.0.3. NOT the other listed on that file.

Almost forgot. You must up date your driver to at least 4.13.7075

It's available at the ATI web site. I've tried others but, this one works best, by far, with my system. You might want to play around later but, start with this one.

I agree. Just get a tweaker (I prefer RadeonTweaker but they all are similar) and go at it. There is a ton of tweaks possible and if a few extra 3dmark points really means that much to you, then you can mess around with those or load the 3dmark profile. Though personally, I use very few tweaks (only o/c, enable t&l, v-sync on) because I've found they can hurt performance in games and cause visual errors.

About Diablo 2, I hear the Radeon performs pretty bad in there. Mine played okay but then again I have a much faster computer. Diablo 2 is uses Glide so if having a Voodoo card is the best way to play it. It's kinda sad that even in the xpac they haven't optimized it for Nvidia or ATi cards considering 3dfx is no more. Diablo 2 was in dev for 4 years back when a Voodoo or V2 was the sh*t which is why it runs so well on them.

You can run in 2d Directdraw mode if you want better performance. Much better performance but the colors are bad and the graphics look pretty crappy.
