Radeon LE/DDR causes pincushin when gaming/??

Whenever I start playing NFS5 or half life my screen has a huge pincushin on it, which i fix on the game, but then when the game is over, the desktop is messed up? anyone else had a similar problem. what is the deal? its pissing me off, changing monitor settings is damn annoying? help me please. what would cause the change

NFS5 has a known issue. Check display properties,settings,advanced,Direct3D tab. Set Z buffer to 16,24,32 and check 8bit stencil. Apply. While you are there, check the adapter tab and make sure refresh rate is set to optimal. Is your monitor correctly identified in device manager? What OS and display drivers are you using? A clean install may be needed. If you do the clean install, be sure to delete drvdata.bin and drvidx.bin from the C:\windows\inf directory. Good luck.
