Are there any compatibility issues with the Radeon LE and Windows 2000? Do the drivers work or is it chancy because I'm thinking of using the Radeon with Windows 2000.

Though I advocate greatly the Radeon DDR LE, I would probably not reccomend this card if you are using Win2k for gaming. On the other hand, if you were dual booting, I wouldn't see any problem using this card in Win98/Me. The Radeon DDR LE will take a fairliy large performance hit when going into Win2K, and the drivers are "okay" at best. They have been releasing a bunch of Win2K drivers lately, and it is supposedly helping the problems, but I am not positive, since I don't use Win2k. However, if you are using Win98/Me, this card is a really awesome card for the "budget minded".

I have been using the Radeon LE in W2k for a couple of weeks now and I have to say that I have been impressed for a $77 card. I have been doing a bit of tweaking with it and have gotten it down to where I think I want to leave it.

I would recommend getting the Radeon LE and then using Raid-On Tweaker v4.1 by Humus. With this utility you can overclock the card to retail or higher speeds as well as load profiles in an instant and not have to worry about digging through the registry.

While the numbers on the benchmarks will lag a little bit behind those of Win98/ME, for me the real world performance in games has been fabulous. DVD playback is also great. Check out the rage3d.com forums for all kinds of help tweaking if you want.

Here is my setup.

PIII700e@933
256MB PC133 CAS3 Crucial
Radeon LE @ 200 w/ 586 fan attached
W2k w/ SP1
Beta 3116 drivers
Raid-on Tweaker v4.1 by Humus

3dMark2000 scores on default bench are about: 5200
3dmark2001 scores on default bench are about: 3100
