TIA for any help.
I recently installed a Radeon LE in a friend's HP Pavilion 9860C. The MOBO in this system is an ASUS P2B-VT Rev 1.02 (built for HP). It has the Apollo Pro133
chipset, a P3 650 and 288MB RAM.
I made sure any remnants of his old video cards were cleaned up (including registry entries and .inf files) before installing the Radeon LE. I used the 7106 drivers and tried the 4.29 AGP VIA in standard mode - video was choppy, so I tried turbo mode - even worse. I ended up not using any VIA drivers.
Here are my issues/problems:
I was unable to OC the Radeon past 160 (using RaidOn Tweaker 5.0 and Rage3D Tweaker 2.4) - the screen would fill with weird lines of colors.
I then flashed the LE's BIOS to mimic the retail Radeon. Now, I am unable to overclock past 172. My other 2 LE's that I installed in the past went to 183 easily. This issue is least important. It's the next issue that concerns me.
When I run 3DMark200 - the program crashes toward the end of the default benchmark - out of video memory - this happens in the 32MB and 64MB texturing test. The BIOS for the MOBO has no AGP Aperture Size settings. Am I on the right track here ?
My question: how can I add memory to the video ? Is there some system.ini parameter I need to add or something else I can do to help this situation (short of replacing the MOBO) ?
Thanks for any suggestions.
