Radeon is making me crazy

Ok, I have been reading all the posts here & on many other boards. I am about to try the solution that two guys have for my problem. I am sure most of you will know that the problem I am having is with the capture on Radeon. I am trying to capture using Premiere 6 & I am unable to do so. I understand that ATI wants everyone to move to DirectShow but does this mean that they will make software like Premiere absolete? That is crap.
When I first got the Radeon & installed the drivers from the CD everything worked ok, now my HD took a dump & I set up a new one, then I decided to install new drivers & MMC tools from the website, now I can not capture with Adobe Premiere. I will try those tricks some of you talk about. I just want to say that this sucks, I spend alot of money on software that I can not use at this moment because of Microcrap & ATI.
If some one knows any other way to correct this please let me know.
Thanx

I couldn't capture in Premiere 5 or 6 no matter how I did it or what drivers I used. I just use the ATI Mutlimedia Center Video-in thing and capture as mpeg-2 (all other ones drop frames big time).

Why not just install the Drivers and MMC from the CD? You said it worked before. Then, perhaps, just install the new drivers and MMC over the top?

I use Premiere v6, but to be honest, I don't use it to capture(it does work though). I get my best captures from the ATI digital VCR, then import the footage into Premiere for editing.

It worked before, it'll work again.
